Little Bit About Me

My photo
First and foremost, I am a Christian woman: I love Jesus! In this blog you will find stories of trying to conceive with PCOS, MTHFR, Poor egg quality, a unicornuate uteterus, and too many babies in heaven. It is a good thing God is the ultimate healer! Here you will find praise! and you may also find venting (I'm not perfect...) and you will find other stories of my crazy life. All the while through this journey I am holding on to scripture & hoping to one day be a mother here on Earth (waiting on God & His perfect timing...why am I so impatient?) But in the meantime, here you will find me: Jessica, loving wife, hopeful heart of a mother, and faithful friend.

All writing in this blog is unedited and 100% from what I am feeling at the time. By continuing to read it means that you will take my vents with a grain of salt. You will choose to not take offense. And most of all, if you know me in real life you will either choose to stop reading or keep the knowledge of this blog quiet, and privately allow me to know you are reading. I only share this information with close friends. I do not share this with facebook for a purpose: it is meant to be semi-private. Not "public" knowledge in the sense of the majority of those in real life knowing about it. If you can accept all that has been stated, sit back, grab a box of tissues, and be prepared to endure the rocky road of trying to conceive while trying to get out of the shadows of infertility.

Long Time No Post

I took a little (ok LONG) break from blogging, and things are a lot better with my husband and I if you got to read those posts before I deleted them.

Matthew is now 4 months old. And still isnt sleeping through the night. And still is colicy. What no one tells you is colic can last for a year. And I had that when I was little. Joy. He is now on prevacid to see if he will sleep a little better (it has helped some).

Believe it or not, the little guy that had a wrinkly old man butt when born and weighed 6lbs 3.5oz, 20 inches long....is now a TANK! He is now 19lbs 15oz and is 27inches long.

The doctor said he is the size of an average 6 month old. And to expect his mobility to be delayed. Haha that part made me chuckle. He definitely isnt interested in trying to roll. And does pushup position only when he really feels like it.

Also, much to the dismay to many. For his acid reflux we tried a little cereal in his bottle...it made it WORSE he has gas, spit up more...so even though he is 4 months (and still not sleeping through the night...I assure you cereal isnt going to help. Even though everyone tells us it will) we are holding back foods for at least a month.

The WHO recommends you actually wait until 6months old. Until they can sit up by themselves and no longer have the reflex to push foods out of their mouth with their tongue. So we might just do breastmilk until 6 months. Maybe 7 months because he was almost a month early. We shall see.

Anyways, I am super excited to see my baby boy after a long day at school. Spring break is next week and I am excited to be able to nap when he does. Currently I have cut back at work due to how colicy he has been at night. I went as far as getting FMLA so I wouldnt lose my job. And now I wish I didnt have to work until this fall after the first two crazy semesters of the nursing program are done and over with.

Speaking of nursing school. I am very proud of myself. The first test I got an 88% (it was harder than I anticipated getting back into nclex style questions). And the second exam.....100.6% after collaborative points! I could have peed my pants for sure! Right now I have an A- in the class. And am SO freaking excited! Especially since I have only had to study for an hour or 2 each exam because it is all review for me.

Take that! ;-)

Anyways, here are some pics of my little (big) man

  1. Glad to hear you are doing well. Congrats on rocking it in nursing school so far. It is crazy hard so the fact that you are doing so well is amazing. I did it while I wasn't married or with a child and it was hard.... you are totally impressing me!

Sorry to hear about Matthew's colic. My Matthew had some serious reflux issues too. The crying and fussing really did get better despite the reflux itself not improving for awhile... (we are STILL dealing with it at almost 14 months... fortunately he has been sleeping and not screaming with it for awhile now! It gets SO much easier to manage even though it may last... ). Solids didn't really help him either (he just projectile vomited colors from an assortment of veggies instead of just milk).

I can't believe he is already 4 months. Have a great spring break!
