I have been crampy off and on all day yesterday and all night. Pretty sure braxton hicks have started already. How long they were lasting was freaking me out.
This pregnancy is going to be the death of me due to nerves.
So while waiting for a resident to be done in the bathroom, I sat down and prayed.
All of a sudden I felt tons of pressure...up to the left of my belly button, and sure enough it was baby. After that I felt a bit better. Tightness higher up on baby is something new, I think it is happening due to this little one coming out of hiding place down low to explore the great abyss above! :-) lol
Nerves are still on high alert though bc I have also felt some cramping much like period cramps.
My prayer is for this pregnancy to make it at least past my birthday (November 16th) any time after that (or the day I suppose) the baby can come and I would feel pretty confident in the early-ish arrival. For my cervix to stay closed and firm like steel until then, and my uterus to expand for our little one to have plenty of room to grow and wiggle without putting extra pressure on my cervix until it is a safe time for arrival. By safe I mean no nicu! Praying for healthy baby without nicu issues.
My momma heart is on full alert. I want this baby safe in our arms. Because my uterus doesnt seem to be a very safe place to be at times.
Ok I am tired and want to nap before we go to second service for church.
I do plan on eating a bowl of cereal first though. Golden Crisp are my weakness at the moment (along with grilled cheese & tomato soup!
I cannot wait to lay down and have these cramps stop! Braxton hicks or whatever they are are not good for my nerves.

Braxton-Hicks contractions are annoying and sometimes very uncomfortable. Try to relax when you are having them, it's just your uterus doing its thing. But lying down and drinking water DOES definitely help them go away if they are happening really frequently.
ReplyDeleteI've also noticed some things seem to trigger BH: a particularly hard kick from a baby, waiting too long to pee, being dehydrated, sitting hunched over forward, stress, walking too fast. Once I started identifying some of my triggers it didn't freak me out as much if in some circumstances I get them more frequently.
I'll echo what Robin said. Make sure you stay completely hydrated and rest as much as you can. Has your Dr. discussed a cerclage if your cervix starts to get too short?
